Overview

NanoBrand Gold Nanostars 90 nm are anisotropic gold nanoparticles with an average 90 nm diameter and branched spikes of about 20–40 nm, engineered for strong plasmonic enhancement in the NIR region. Their LSPR peak is tuned within 1000–1050 nm, making them ideal for SERS, bioimaging and NIR‑excited photothermal Life Science applications. The nanostars are supplied reactant‑free in high‑purity water with PVP or chitosan surface coatings, ensuring colloidal stability and convenient interfaces for further functionalization.

For each lot, average diameter and branch length are quantified from TEM, and an equivalent spherical diameter is calculated (Dequiv ≈ Dcore + ½ Lbr) to support accurate mass and concentration estimates. This control of nanostar geometry delivers consistent optical properties and reproducible LSPR peak positions from batch to batch, supporting robust assay development and comparative studies.

CTAB‑free, Reactant‑free Dispersion

Our nanostars are formulated as reactant‑free dispersions in Milli‑Q water (18.2 MΩ·cm) with long‑term stability, without added CTAB, CTAC, Tweens, PBS or proprietary stabilizers that can interfere with biology or assay readouts. Precise lot‑to‑lot reproducibility of nanoparticle size, LSPR peak, surface charge and concentration is essential for regulated biomedical, diagnostic and pharmaceutical workflows. Storage, Stability and Related Products

Store gold nanostars at 4–25 °C, protected from light, and DO NOT FREEZE. Gently mix before use; storage toward the lower end of the range generally improves shelf life. During storage, the LSPR peak may shift slightly within the specified window (for example, 900–950 nm), usually toward shorter wavelengths; for longer storage, measuring the UV–Vis spectrum before critical experiments is recommended.
